Our club committee is the group of people who manage the club’s affairs. This is much more than a monthly meeting, or approving race posts in the closed Facebook group. Our committee members are the decision-making body of the club and each committee member is responsible for a different club area.

In addition to our committee, we have volunteers who support the committee in a variety of ways. This includes run leaders, run group volunteers, social liaison representatives and new member representatives. If you want to get involved more with the club, let us know.

Peter – Chairperson & champion scorer

Our chairperson is the most senior official role in our club. Our chair fulfils a range of duties dealing with overall management of club affairs and leads our club to achieve their vision, short term and long-term goals.

Each year we run a Grand Prix and Parkrun Championship. Our scorer is responsible for tracking members’ results at the Grand Prix events, ensuring members who enter meet the competition rules and sharing updates after each race about who qualified.

Nicola – Treasurer

Our Treasurer is responsible for the managing the flow of money into the club and for allocating and recording how that money is spent to run the club. This is a vital role as our treasurer works to ensure the club is able to meet its day-to-day expenses and prompts the need for increased club fundraising where a shortfall in income exists.

Laura and Jonny – social and volunteer events

We are a community based club, meaning that as well as running, members also like to volunteer and be involved in social events. Our social secretary (Laura) and volunteer coordinator (Jonny) organise things ranging from our own club events, support at races, to non-running events such as volunteering with Methley Wombles, at St Aidan’s RSPB reserve, with Methley in Bloom. They are also involved in charity work such as fundraising and collecting donations for food banks.

Sarah – DBS Verifier

Our DBS verifier is responsible for verifying the identity of any run leaders or volunteers who need a DBS check. They work closely with our welfare officer too keep us safe.
